Unicode text is displaying like question marks.

Postby kcvinu » Mon Feb 06, 2017 2:24 pm

Hi all,
I am new to xStarter. I tried to paste some unicode text into MS Word. But it pasted some question marks instead of my text. How to fix this problem ?. I am working with unicode text. I am using an IME to change keyboard language to my native language. That IME uses SetWindowsHook so that if i press "A" in keyboard, MS Word displays "അ" instead of "A". So i would like to know that, can i assign hotkeys with above said situation ?

It means your Unicode text is getting converted to ANSI text somewhere. Since Unicode characters outside of Latin-1 can't be converted to ANSI, they are converted to question marks. Make sure that your program is compiled with Unicode support on (i.e. the preprocessor symbols UNICODE and _UNICODE are #defined by your project), so that you're always calling the proper Unicode versions of the various Windows functions.
