xStarter can work as NT service only if it working from LOCAL_SYSTEM account. If you will change account in the service settings - service will start only then specified user will be loggin in. What's why in the xStarter Preferences disabled option to change user name (some time ago it was enabled)....

You mean some not empty Excel file or maybe .csv? Second is simple text file and can be created by xStarter with easy, Excel will open it very well.

Do you have xStarter working as NT service? If Yes, this can be the reason. Please, try to specify user name and password at the task tab Additional.

Options 2 and 3 are not ready yet. I think there will be only one of this options.
Exactly what does periodically mean, and can I adjust the period somewhere?
Logs files clearing once a day as I can remember. It's not possible to change this period of time.

Hello,

If you need just check application running or not and don't need to start this app, then you need action LaunchedProcessCount.

P.S. You have ShowMessage working only after app closing because option "Wait until application exits" in the action RunProcess checked possibly.

Yes, it have copy folders and it subfolders recursively. In your case it's better to have xStarter working not as NT service because NT services have limitations to work with network. Additionally you can specify username and password in the task page Additional to run task from this user (in this c...
